Our History

Broadway Industries is a third-generation, family-owned manufacturer and distributor of paper and plastic packaging products. Since its inception in 1945, Broadway has grown and diversified into a full-service provider of packaging solutions for the moving and storage, hardware and home improvement, healthcare, grocery, food service and textiles industries.

    Broadway Paper begins operations out of a one-room office located on Broadway in Manhattan, selling custom gift wrap to pharmacies.

    Before Paper Rx bags came into widespread use, pharmacists would wrap medicines in this gift wrap.

  • 1950-1960

    Broadway sets up a storefront in the Bronx, NY.

    Pharmacists could now shop in person for different types of gift wrap.

  • 1960’s-1970’s

    The company adds paper and plastic bags to its product mix.

    Broadway also relocates to two different warehouses in Queens, NY.

  • Mid 1970s

    Broadway starts selling packing supplies to the moving and storage industries and becomes the first company to market individually packaged mattress bags.

    Broadway expands distribution of pharmacy bags outside of New York to neighboring states.

  • Mid 1980s

    Broadway acquires Shipmaster, a manufacturer and distributor of carpet and textile protection products.

    Broadway expands distribution of pharmacy bags to the Northeast region.

  • 1980s-2000s

    Broadway expands distribution of its protective packaging products to the rest of the United States.

    • Broadway continues to innovate in the pharmaceutical industry, winning awards such as “Best Manufacturer of the Year” and “Best New Product of the Year.”
    • Broadway continues to innovate in the moving and storage industry, introducing products designed to simplify your move.
    • Broadway awarded its first patent.
    • The company changes its name to Broadway Industries to better reflect the diversity of products it offers.

    2004

    Broadway relocates its headquarters to Edison, NJ.

  • Broadway Industries building

    2008

    Broadway opens a warehouse in Fontana, CA, in order to better serve the company’s West Coast customers.

  • Broadway Industries campus

    2010

    Broadway Industries makes its new home in Monroe Township, NJ, doubling the size of its East Coast headquarters.

  • 2010s

    Broadway invests in new manufacturing equipment and expands product offerings in multiple industries.

    • Broadway focuses on product innovation, and files dozens of new patents.
    • Broadway continues to win multiple industry awards.
  • 2018

    Broadway redesigns its corporate logo, and goes live with new web sites.
